Astronomical observations

An educational presentation of the meridian line will  be held inside of Santa Maria Novella church, close to the dates of the main astronomical events of the year. You will be able to observe the sun's light projected on the floor according to Egnazio Danti's original plan of 1572-1575.
These presentations and observations are open to the public free of charge inside of Santa Maria Novella church on the following dates and times:

• - Winter Solstice: December 18, 2009 at 11.30am
• - Spring Equinox: March 20, 2010 at 11.30am
