| In celebration of the opening of the Museo Benozzo Gozzoli in
Castelfiorentino, the Institute and Museum of the
History of Science produced a multimedia website featuring the fifteenth-century artist.
Focusing on the close link between scientific
knowledge and cultural development in Tuscany,
the website explains, by means of interactive
systems, 3D animations and movies, the techniques
of production, conservation and restoration of the frescos.
Information sheets were produced by experts in their
fields (Serena Nocentini for the historical-artistic
part and Fabrizio Jacopino for the part on restoration) to create a rich iconographic display as well as a provide a way to geographical reference and identify the individual works of Benozzo
complete with an application designed to provide a
broad and comprehensive overview about the artist
and the painting techniques of the time.
