Organized by the Comune di Faenza, in collaboration with the Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza, the international conference Torricelli, Galileo e la scienza moderna (Torricelli, Galileo and Modern Science) is taking place from October 16 to 18 in the Teatro Masini in Faenza. The conference is part of the program of the celebrations for the 400th Anniversary of Evangelista Torricelli's birth and the centenary of the founding of the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza.
The papers of the world known scholars participating in the three-day conference on Evangelista Torricelli analyze his figure and deal with relevant scientific themes, aiming at revaluating their importance. On October 17 the discussion focused on the Galilean Lectures.
